School
Registration
Registration for the
2010-2011 school year will be held the week of March 1st through
March 5th. You may register your child at the Academy between the
hours of 8:30 am and 2:45 pm. Parents of all returning students MUST register
their child or children EACH year they are in attendance.
Children who will be 5 years
old on or before September 1st may register for kindergarten. A copy
of your child’s birth certificate and immunization record are required at the
time of registration.
Parents of pre-school
children may also register at this time. A pre-school child must be 4 years old
on or before September 1st, 2010 and also be toilet trained to be eligible
for the program.
Please note: All school districts require parents to
request transportation services for their children each year and no later than
April 1st, 2010. If you fail to request transportation by April 1st,
they can deny your request.
Scholastic
Book Fair March 1st – 5th.
The
Daily Hours: 9:30 – 2:30
Theme: “We are hungry for books!”
Volunteers
are needed to supervise the High School library on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or
Friday.
Mid-Winter
Break – Roots Week
The
week of February 15th through February 19th has been
designated this year as Roots Week. Activities are planned throughout the week
for both young and old. It looks to be an exciting week for families and
visitors to our campus. Schedules are available in the

Roll
Listed on the back of this
Newsletter are names of students in grades 4-12 who achieved Honor Roll status
during the second marking period. Brother Nathan Sleight, a graduating senior,
achieved an average of 100. Sister Joanna Bailey received a 99.85 average and
Sister Erin Bolowsky a 98.44 average. These 3 students will be treated at
Friendly’s Ice-Cream Parlor. Congratulations to ALL Honor Roll students!
Advanced
Placement Exams (AP)
Advanced Placement Exams are
offered to all 10th through 12th grade students. A letter
explaining the exam is included with this newsletter.
Track
& Field Program 2010
Boy
& girls Varsity, grades 9 – 12, track & field program is right around
the corner. Girls Varsity-preseason workouts will begin March 8th
from 3:30 – 5:00. Monday, March 15th
both girls & boys Varsity begins at 3:30 – 6:00 Boys and Girls Modified for
grades 7 & 8 will begin on Monday, April 5th from 3:30 –
5:00. All who wish to participate must
have an updated physical form filed with the health office. We encourage all students to
participate. All schedules will be
posted on lwplanner.org
Uniform
Coupon
Included with this newsletter
is a coupon to receive a reduction of 15% on all orders paid in full by March
10th, 2010. This will be our second year working with Rose Uniform Company
and all comments have been positive.
HELP
IS NEEDED!!
LWA
is in great need of a Study Hall teacher Monday afternoons from 12:20 –
3:00. Please consider giving of your
time if you have Monday afternoons available, we would greatly appreciate
it.
Senior
Class Calzone Fundraiser
The senior class will make,
bake, and sell calzones to the student body on Friday, February 26th.
Health
Office Reminder
